This scenario was originally published in ON ALL FRONTS number 43 (June 1986). The original scenario author is Tim Taylor. Original credited playtesters are R. Hilbert, M. Burns & Jim Blue. This scenario is part of a set of four that can be played with the Arracourt Tank Battle Campaign Game. Further development, clarifications and modification have been made to the original published scenario by Bill Thomson.


About one mile west of Xures, France, September 21, 1944: The 11th Panzer Brigade sought to refuse its left flank as their forces for the counter-offensive gathers to the east. Unaware of the impeding German attack, General Wood ordered the whole 4th Armored Division to rest and refit. Despite this, American probes still tested the German defenses.

VICTORY CONDITIONS: The Americans automatically wins if there are no unbroken German squads at the end of turn 7. Otherwise, a victory is determined at game's end by Control (having had the last unit in that hex) of a majority of the following victory hexes: 13K6, 13Y8, 13CC5, 12CC7, 12S6, 12Q5, 12O5, 12M4, and 12I1.

AFTERMATH: In the initial exchange both sides lost about equally and the Germans just barely repulsed a second attack. However, constant American probing completely stalled the German attack.
