KC REVISED ERRATA FOR SPI'S WAR IN EUROPE, Revision 2, June 1984
CHARTS AND TABLES
- [28.0] (Clarification) The large separate sheet containing the German
Production Spiral, Cost Chart, etc., is the Production Schedule.
POLITICAL POINT RECORD (Correction)
- The first event listed on the Political Point Record is in error. Germany
does not surrender when the Political Point Level reaches "0". Rather,
Germany surrenders only when the conditions outlined in Case 32.16 are met.
ALLIED GAME-TURN/CYCLE RECORD TRACK (Change)
- Change " The Allies enter Iran" to "The Allies must enter
Iran".
THE SOVIET GAME-TURN/CYCLE RECORD TRACK AND THE AXIS GAME-TURN CYCLE/RECORD
TRACK (Correction)
- The Campaign Game in WAR IN THE EAST (not WAR IN EUROPE) is in error by
one
cycle. The Reinforcements and Soviet multiple in Cycle 7/41 should appear
in Cycle 8/41, and those in Cycle 8/41 should appear in Cycle 9/41, etc.
SCENARIOS (Corrections)
- For all scenarios which do not specify the location of the Soviet Arms and
Personnel Centers, use the locations in Case 64.6.
- For Kursk and Army Group Center Scenarios, use the 1942 Start Line for the
Finnish Theater.
MAP CORRECTIONS AND CHANGES
- Bastia, hex D2101, is considered a Minor Port, not a Major Port.
- The following hexsides are blocked hexsides:
- G0913-1012 NOTE: Units may traverse the peninsula from G0813 to
G0913-1013
- G0913, but are considered to be on the peninsula,
- G0913-0914 not on the mainland. Note, too, that combat on the
- G0813-0914 peninsula is considered to be equivalent to combat
- G3303-3304 across a river, and may occur only between hexes
- G2901-F2933 G0813 and G0913.
- G3101-3102
- G3101-3001
- The following hexsides are considered to have a double-headed crossing arrow
like H2418-2518: H2317-2318, and G0813-0913.
- The following hexsides may be crossed only by Rail Movement regardless of
the Weather: G3103-3104.
- The Dyle river is presumed to follow the following hexsides: C3105-3004,
C3105-3005, and C3105-3106
- The Suez Canal is considered a river.
- The following hexes of Map D are Mountain hexes (only some maps are missing
these Mountain designations): 4315, 4415, 4515, 4517, 4616, 4518, 4519, 4418,
4127, 4222, 4223, 4224, 4225, 4226, 4227, 4327, and 4328.
MAP CORRECTIONS
- 1) The Western Mediterranean/Central Mediterranean Sea Area border joins
along hexsides C1833/C1733 and D1701/C1833.
- 2) Hexsides D2522/2621 and D2522/2622 are Blocked hexsides.
- 3) The Blocked hexside F2807/2908 should be deleted. Normal movement and
combat is possible between those two hexes.
- 4) Syracuse, hex D2323, is a MAJOR Port hex.
- 5) Hex D5111 is a Woods hex.
- 6) Hexes F5433, F5633, and F5833 are Swamp hexes.
- 7) Hexes F1233 and G1101 are Clear hexes.
- 8) The city and Minor Port in hex D1805 is the port of Terranova.
- 9) Sevastapol, hex H2021, is a PERSONNEL CENTER (applicable to War in the
East/War in Europe).
TERRAIN NOTE
- The coastlines shown on the map were designed resemble as closely as
possible the actual coastlines of Europe. They have not been rationalized
to conform to the hexgrid. For this reason a number of hexes and hexsides
contain very insignificant portions of land, In part, we have attempted to
clarify the situation through use of the Blocked hexsides. However, some
ambiguous hexes still remain. Players are advised to use their own judgment
to come to some common agreement concerning problems of terrain
interpretation. See enclosed map clarification table of All-Sea hexes.
The following hexes are considered All-Sea hexes:
